Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) Lock-In
The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) is an optional service under the Medicaid State plan, known as MO HealthNet. PACE provides comprehensive health care, social, recreational and wellness services 24 hours a day, seven days a week that are provided at the PACE center, in the home, in the hospital or in a nursing facility, depending upon the needs of the participant.
PACE Centers include an adult day care, a primary clinic, and areas for therapeutic recreation, restorative therapies, socialization, personal care and dining. The PACE Center serves as the focal point for coordination and provision of most PACE services. The goal is to maximize participants’ potential, enabling them to continue residing in their homes and communities by providing preventive primary care and other supportive services.
The PACE participants must receive all Medicare and Medicaid benefits solely through the PACE provider. PACE participants must use the PACE Organization's physician and provider network for all health services. Any service that is not authorized by the interdisciplinary team as a part of the PACE participant's care plan is not a covered service unless it is an emergency service.
To determine if a participant is in PACE, providers will see the following in eMOMED.
